Brief content A wustite-structure iron catalyst is a new generation of an industrial catalyst for the ammonia synthesis. During the presentation, the results of the effect of cobalt additive on the wustite based catalyst in the ammonia synthesis reaction will be presented. The phase composition was determined by XRD technique and chemical composition was determined by the ICP-OES method. The use of temperature programmable techniques allowed to determine the initial reduction temperature, while the use of TPD technique allowed the determination of the specific and active surface areas of the catalyst. The activity in the ammonia synthesis reaction was tested at 10 MPa in the temperature range from 350oC to 500oC.
