Brief content Flame atomic absorption spectrometry method was validated for the determination of Cu, Sn, Pb, Fe, Ni, Zn and Cr in the extract obtained after leaching of Waste Printed Circuit Board in a solution containing 2 mol L-1 KBr, 45 mL HCl 37% and 45 mL liquid Br2. The method was compared with inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry. After 1000-fold dilution of the original extract the solution was analyzed by the two methods. The methods were characterized in term of limit of detection, limit of quantification, precision and recovery obtained on synthetic samples. The linear correlation was used in order to emphasize the lack of systematic error between the two methods.
