| Brief content | Nowadays, the production of bio-based and valuable organic acids is an emerging topic. Itaconic acid is a promising and widely used chemical which can be produced industrially by fermentation. The recovery of itaconic acid from the fermentation broth required multistep downstream techniques. Its market has limitations due to the relatively high production cost. In the lecture an alternative process using bipolar electrodialysis will be presented. |
