Brief content | Multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) can comprehensively compare process design alternatives and aid in selection of the most feasible ones. Our attention was focused on four main criteria in this work: economics, material use and energy efficiency, safety, and environmental impact. The subject of the analysis were hydrogen production routes via steam methane reforming of natural gas and biogas. Different process configurations were simulated in Aspen Plus and simulation data were utilised in MCDA based on analytic hierarchy process to determine ranking of studied process routes. Multiple decision scenarios were developed with various significance of four main criteria. |
