Brief content | The method for measurement of water transport through heterogeneous ion exchange membrane (IM) as its characteristics was observed. It can be expressed as an average number of water molecules transported through the membrane by one ion. Cation and anion exchange membranes were characterized separately in electrochemical cell with copper electrodes and solution CuSO4. Water transport by bivalent ions, mainly the sulphate anion was determined. Results for some of commercially available IM were compared with IM with modified composition. |
